Rename a topic

By default, any user can rename any topic within a stream, and organization administrators can additionally move topics from one stream to another.

Organization administrators can turn off community topic editing, or turn off message editing entirely. See the guide to message and topic editing for the details on when topic editing is allowed.

Rename a topic

  1. Select the first option. It may be called View source / Edit topic, or simply Edit. If it's called View source, then you are not allowed to edit the topic of that message.

  2. Edit the topic.

  3. Pick Change previous and following messages to this topic from the dropdown to the right.

  4. Click Save.

Move a topic to another stream

Organization administrators can move a topic from one public stream to another.

  1. Select Move <topic name> to another stream.

  2. Select the destination stream for the topic from the streams dropdown list.

  3. (Optional) Change the topic.

  4. Click Move topic.
