# Configure desktop notifications

Follow the following steps to change your desktop notifications.
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
If you want notifications for each new message from a stream, check the
|
|
desktop notifications box under **Stream messages**.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you want notifications for private messages and @-mentions, check the
|
|
desktop notifications box under **Private messages and @-mentions**.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
2. Click on the **Save Changes** button at the bottom to save your settings.
