This keeps hotspot icons positioned at the front of the message
viewport but behind sidebars (i.e. the left sidebar has a z-index
of 103). Hotspots associated with elements outside of the message
viewport should be individually adjusted at the bottom of hotspots.css.
compute_placement utilizes the dimensions of the viewport, viewport location of
an element, and dimensions of an element to determine if a popover will fit
horizontally and/or veritically given its orientation. The default placement
is now viewport_center, which displays the popover, without an arrow, in the
fixed center of the viewport.
This should be particularly useful for hotspots on mobile or large popovers
that contain a lot of content. The property hotspot.location.popover can be
optionally set to fix the orientation of a popover (most likely to
VIEWPORT_CENTER).
This is an old script that could be used to literally print the Zulip
codebase to a PDF. It hasn't been run since ~2013, and probably never
will be used again. Since it's probably not interesting enough to be
its own open source project, we should just delete it.
Since new mypy versions frequently break old versions, this check is a
useful way to help prevent problems where mypy output is wrong.
We could probably tighten this by checking explicitly the expected
mypy version from requirements.txt, but that's work.
Replaces #5026.
This fixes the lightbox zoom issues that occurred on some browsers
due to the units of `deltaY` being in lines rathern than pixels,
making it incredibly slow to zoom.
Since we can use both perfer_offline=True and False in a since build
prefer_offline shouldn't be used as a cache key or it will confuse the
cleanup script. Since yarn install (if successful) should be idempotent.
This will probably be ok.
It's hard to find literature with the community tone we're going for, that
is consistent with the Zulip code of conduct, etc.
This commit removes the special tooling for Gutenberg plays, and changes the
text to be some mixture of scigen, Communications From Elsewhere,
chat.zulip.org, and various books from the public domain.
We apparently were not correctly clearing the user_profile's email
address from caches when changing email addresses, which meant that
trying to look up the old email in the user_profile caches would still
work.
Fixes#6035.
This no longer does the correct thing (in terms of onboarding emails,
default streams, etc), and is tempting for new server admins to use.
Once we remove it we'll also have the invariant that we can't have a realm
without a user, which will simplify accounts_register a bit.
The "all" option for 'message/flags' was dangerous, as it could
apply to any of our flags. The only flag it made sense for, the
"read" flag, now has a dedicated endpoint.
This change simplifies how we mark all messages as read. It also
speeds up the backend by taking advantage of our partial index
for unread messages. We also use a new statsd indicator.
By the time we render messages, we will have set message.unread,
so we don't need to calculate it from flags.
We add a line to the local-echo path to make this explicit
in that code.
When we learn about updated message, a bunch of flag/boolean
fields concern us:
starred
mentioned
alerted
is_me_message
We now set booleans consistently with how we set new incoming
messages.
