This commit does the following three things:
1. Update stream model to accomodate rendered description.
2. Render and save the stream rendered description on update.
3. Render and save stream descriptions on creation.
Further, the stream's rendered description is also sent whenever the
stream's description is being sent.
This is preparatory work for eliminating the use of the
non-authoritative marked.js markdown parser for stream descriptions.
Makes announce stream `is_announcement_only` for the dev db for easier
manual testing. The default value for `is_announcement_only` in
`bulk_create_streams` is False.
We flip the Stream "Rome" to be a web public stream. Also we add
attribute is_web_public in various stream dicts and in the
bulk_create_streams function of bulk_create.py responsible for
default stream creation in dev environment.
This buggy logic from e1686f427c had
broken do-destroy-rebuild-test-database.
Now that we're not just trying to add the Recipient objects for every
user on the system here to profiles_by_id, we also shouldn't be
processing every Recipeint object on the system. The fix is simple:
because of the patch we got merged into Django upstream,
recipients_to_create actually has the object IDs added to the
Recipient objects passed into Recipient.objects.bulk_create.
This was missed in manual testing, since it only broke `populate_db
--test-suite`.
Add this field to the Stream model will prevent us from having
to look at realm data for several types of stream operations, which
can be prone to either doing extra database lookups or making
our cached data bloated.
Going forward, we'll set stream.is_zephyr to True whenever the
realm's string id is "zephyr".
This is required for test fixtures which contain `stream_id`. Prior
to python 3.3 hashes were not randomized but after a security fix
hash randomization was enabled by default in python 3.3 which made
iteration of dictionaries and sets completely unpredictable.
First step in cleaning up populate_db.create_streams and
bulk_create.bulk_create_streams. Part of a series of commits to remove
Realm.domain from populate_db.
bulk_create.bulk_create_users is only called by initialize_voyager_db.py and
populate_db.py, both of which only have realms with single domains.
Part of a larger project to remove the Realm.domain field.
Previously, the UserProfile objects were created in the order
generated by a Set, which meant tests would randomly start failing if
the code that runs before this part of populate_db changed (and thus
caused the Set object used to pass users into bulk_create_users to
have a different order when enumerated).
This fixes the issue in two ways -- one by sorting the users inside
bulk_create_users, and second by attaching subscriptions to users
based on a deterministic ordering.
Now that we support email aliases, we have to be careful when going from
an email address to a domain that we assume we can use to get a Realm
object for. When we care about the Realm's domain, we want to follow
any RealmAliases that exist for a certain domain.
When we just care about the original email address domain itself,
for comparison or other purposes, use split_email_from_domain
This removes the ambiguity of having to decide when to use
email_to_domain + RealmAlias or just email_to_domain

This needs to be deployed to both staging and prod at the same
off-peak time (and the schema migration run).
At the time it is deployed, we need to make a few changes directly in
the database:
(1) UPDATE django_content_type set app_label='zerver' where app_label='zephyr';
(2) UPDATE south_migrationhistory set app_name='zerver' where app_name='zephyr';
