MigrationsTestCase is intentionally omitted from this, since migrations
tests are different in their nature and so whatever setUp()
ZulipTestCase may do in the future, MigrationsTestCase may not
necessarily want to replicate.
This function is an alternative to get_admin_users that we use in all
places where we explicitly want only human administrative users (not
administrative bots). The following commits will rename
get_admin_users for better clarity.
This makes the implementation of `get_realm` consistent with its
declared return type of `Realm` rather than `Optional[Realm]`.

This commit replaces the `create_stream_by_admins_only` setting with a
new `create_stream_policy` setting, which mirroring the structure of
the existing `invite_to_stream_policy`.
This is important preparation for migrating the waiting period feature
to be its own independent setting.
Fixes#12236.
This commit creates a new organization setting that determines whether
a user can invite other users to streams. Previously this was linked
to the waiting period threshold, but this was both not documented and
overly limiting.
With significant tweaks by tabbott to change the database model to not
involve two threshhold fields, edit the tests, etc.
This requires follow-up work to make the create stream policy setting
work how this code implies it should.
Fixes#12042.
Fixing this involves fixing the backend to handle unchanged field
submissions of the Zoom credentials without trying to re-validate the
credentials (for performance) as well as to fetch the already-sent
secret.
Visually, #zoom_help_text acts like
.organization-settings-parent div:first-of-type when the Zoom option
is selected, but isn't treated as such.
No visual change with the #google_hangouts_domain change; just there to make
the code more readable/defensible.
This causes changing the email_address_visibility field to actually
modify what user_profile.email values are generated for users, both on
user creation and afterwards as email addresses are edited.
The overall feature isn't yet complete, but this brings us pretty close.
This is preparatory work for settings controlling who can see user
emails; it includes the API-level support for editing it, but no code
to actually enforce the policy.
This adds a function that sends provided email to all administrators
of a realm, but in a single email. As a result, send_email now takes
arguments to_user_ids and to_emails instead of to_user_id and
to_email.
We adjust other APIs to match, but note that send_future_email does
not yet support the multiple recipients model for good reasons.
Tweaked by tabbott to modify `manage.py deliver_email` to handle
backwards-compatibily for any ScheduledEmail objects already in the
database.
Fixes#10896.
This adds a web flow and management command for reactivating a Zulip
organization, with confirmation from one of the organization
administrators.
Further work is needed to make the emails nicer (ideally, we'd send
one email with all the admins on the `To` line, but the `send_email`
library doesn't support that).
Fixes#10783.
With significant tweaks to the email text by tabbott.
This is initial work, which will help us establish habits of using a
well-tested approach for renaming a Zulip organization (since as part
of https://github.com/zulip/zulip-mobile/issues/3142, we'll likely
need to make this function do more).
We could migrate all the current PREMIUM_FREE organizations to have more
invites, but this setting mainly affects orgs right as they are starting, so
it's probably fine.
Add realm setting to set time limit for message deleitng.
Set default value of message_content_delete_limit_seconds
to 600 seconds(10 min).
Thanks to Shubham Dhama for rebasing and reworking this. Some final
edits also done by Tim Abbott.
Fixes#7344.
This bot was basically a duplicate of NOTIFICATION_BOT for some
specific corner cases, and didn't add much value. It's better to just
eliminate it, which also removes some ugly corner cases around what
happens if the user account doesn't exist.
This adds button under "Organization profile" settings, which
deactivates the organization and sends an "event" to all the
active user and log out them.
Fixes: #8212.
We don't have our linter checking test files due to ultra-long strings
that are often present in test output that we verify. But it's worth
at least cleaning out all the ultra-long def lines.
This commit prepares us to introduce a StreamLite class. For
these tests, we don't care about the actual contents of the
Stream, just the right stream is there.
ScheduledJob was written for much more generality than it ended up being
used for. Currently it is used by send_future_email, and nothing
else. Tailoring the model to emails in particular will make it easier to do
things like selectively clear emails when people unsubscribe from particular
email types, or seamlessly handle using the same email on multiple realms.
Realm.notifications_stream is not a boolean, Text or integer field, and
thus doesn't fit into the do_set_realm_property framework. Added function
to update it in actions.py. Altered the view, realm.py, to accept
stream-id. Also, notifications stream can be disabled by sending a
negative id.
This fixes most cases where we were assigning a user to
the var email and then calling get_user_profile_by_email with
that var.
(This was fixed mostly with a script.)
The example_user() function is specifically designed for
AARON, hamlet, cordelia, and friends, and it allows a concise
way of using their built-in user profiles. Eventually, the
widespread use of example_user() should help us with refactorings
such as moving the tests users out of the "zulip.com" realm
and deprecating get_user_profile_by_email.
This replaces individual tests for realm properties with a generic
do_test_realm_update_api function to test each property in the
Realm.property_types attribute.
Addresses part of #3854.
- Add message retention period field to organization settings form.
- Add css for retention period field.
- Add convertor to not negative int or to None.
- Add retention period setting processing to back-end.
- Fix tests.
Modified by tabbott to hide the setting, since it doesn't work yet.
The goal of merging this setting code now is to avoid unnecessary
merge conflicts in the future.
Part of #106.
zerver/lib/actions: removed do_set_realm_* functions and added
do_set_realm_property, which takes in a realm object and the name and
value of an attribute to update on that realm.
zerver/tests/test_events.py: refactored realm tests with
do_set_realm_property.
Kept the do_set_realm_authentication_methods and
do_set_realm_message_editing functions because their function
signatures are different.
Addresses part of issue #3854.
In aa880b0419, we used the raw
do_set_realm_description method rather than calling the API, which
meant that the API success path wasn't actually tested.
This adds an organization description field to the Realm model, as well as
an input field to the organization settings template. Added three tests.
Set the max length of the field to 100 characters.
Fixes#3962.
