These elements include:
* Stream description in the subscription overlay
* sidebar and
* stream settings
* Custom profile fields with rendered MD content
This commit disables "Mobile notifications" if `push_notifications` are not
enabled. It also adds a tooltip explaining why this is disabled.
Fixes#12208
Add `name` attribute to stream settings `input` elements
and change `id` attribute corresponding to name.
`name` attribute stores value of settings name which is
stored in frontend data sets.
Change element ids of `is_muted` and `pin_to_top` settings,
to macth with the pattern of other stream settings.
This is preparatory refactor to support removing code duplication in
the stream settings templates.
This commit migrates the Subscription's notification fields from a
BooleanField to a NullBooleanField where a value of None means to
inherit the value from user's profile.
Also includes a migrations to set the corresponding settings to None
if they match the user profile's values. This migration helps us in
getting rid of the weird "Apply to all" widget that we offered on
subscription settings page.
The mobile apps can't handle None appearing as the stream-level
notification settings, so for backwards-compatibility we arrange to
only send True/False to the mobile apps by applying those defaults
server-side. We introduce a notification_settings_null value within a
client_capabilities structure that newer versions of the mobile apps
can use to request the new model.
This mobile compatibility code is pretty effectively tested by the
existing test_events tests for the subscriptions subsystem.
Previous commits have fully implemented the logic for stream email
notifications; this final commit adds support for configuring it to
the UI.
Fixes#6511.
When admin user create new private stream, widget for changing privacy
of stream doesn't render. Because we render subscription-settings
template partially on subscription-add event, so this case wasn't
handled.
Fixes#9469
Now that we've moved it into a bulleted set of options inside a modal,
there's no good reason to have separate variables for the corner cases
around who can manage a stream.
We make some specific cases of tags use 2 space indents.
The case description:
* A tag with opening tag spread over multiple lines and closing tag
on the same line as of the closing angle bracket of the opening tag.
* A tag with opening tag spread over multiple lines and closing tag
not on the same line as of the closing angle bracket of the opening
tag.
Example:
Case 1:
Not linted:
<button type="button"
class="btn btn-primary btn-small">{{t "Yes" }}</button>
After linting:
<button type="button"
class="btn btn-primary btn-small">{{t "Yes" }}</button>
Case 2:
Before linting:
<div class = "foo"
id = "bar"
role = "whatever">
{{ bla }}
</div>
After linting:
<div class = "foo"
id = "bar"
role = "whatever">
{{ bla }}
</div>
We only have one possible email hint, so there's no reason
to create one for each stream row, especially since we don't
clean them out when we close stream settings.
If user unsubscribe from private stream, then user can't
access unsubscribed stream members.
After subscription removal, immediately render subscription members
template in case of user can't access stream subscriber.
For public stream, always show stream preview link.
For private stream, only show stream preview link if user is currently
subscribed or previously subscribed to private stream.
Display warning, saying "You can not access private stream subscribers,
in which you aren't subscribed", if user can not access subscribers;
instead of showing zero subscriber to stream.
For public stream, always show subscription option.
For private stream, if user is subscribed display unsubscribe option.
If user is not subscribe, do not display subscription option.
Only show edit option for stream name and description if user is admin and
either stream is public or stream is private and admin is subscribed to
private stream.
As per backend restrictions for editing stream name/description.
Audible notifications is a confusing term, especially since it could
plausibly mean audible notifications on your phone.
Mobile push notifications is also not great, since most people don't know
what push notifications are.
I removed "receive" from stream settings strings since I think it isn't
necessary, and so that the strings (and translations) would be the same as
what's on the settings pages.
We made this change because users often unnecessarily click "Home"
first in their use of Zulip, because it seems appealing. While "All
messages" isn't quite precise (it doesn't include muted streams), it
does describe relatively simply the interleaved view that this
represents.
This commit leaves everything as "home" in the code, and only changes
user-visible strings and docs. Changing the code will be a big project;
there are hundreds of relevant occurrences in variable names, etc.
Further, we'll probably want to convert those various variable names
in different ways.
Tweaked by tabbott to extend the commit message and update a few comments.
This removes the old base button style which was a blue button and
kills the unnecessary .white class which was essentially just acting as
the new button base.
This then removes all references throughout the settings/subscriptions
pages to those button styles.
This also fixes the strange button styles that changed the :hover and
:active opacity to 0.05 which led to unpredictable results on various
backgrounds.
If a url is present in stream description, it will be
rendered as a clickable link under /streams page.
Tweaked by tabbott to use the separate rendered_description element to
avoid duplicate rendering and to live-update.
Fixes#1435.
This adds a button to #subsciption page called "View Stream"
that narrows the user to that particular stream.
This fix involves typical changes to JS/CSS to add new features,
and we also add a "preview_url" field to the sub object in
stream_data.js.
