If the `load_messages_for_narrow` function tried to fetch messages with
a floating point anchor (locally echoed message id) we get a 400 error.
The logic to remove the rounding of the anchor parameter was done in
commit bf2f36e6b4, as it would always be
an integer in all incoming code paths.
However, since then we have updated the GET /messages API, to also allow
strings as the anchor parameter and this value's parsing is done in the
backend.
Fixes#15497.
We update the logic for displaying the "message is outside current
narrow" notice, by comparing whether the message the client sent can
be appended to the current narrow's filter or not (this results in us
correctly falling through to reporting the user needs to scroll down).
This migrations use of url() to path() or re_path(). In this commit,
we only migration regular expressions to path where the translation is trivial:
* URLs with no parameters in them
* URLs with only integer parameters in them
* Strings where there regular expression just checked for `/`s
path; strings, which can have variable validation in the URLs that
need by-hand auditing, we leave for future commits that are easier to
review and think about the individual changes.
Modified by tabbott to convert back to `re_path` various URLs with
strings that had been converted to use `path()` with string
validation to simplify review.
Fixes#14770.
Also, `send_message` example is altered to send a message to the
stream 'social' to avoid getting a "first_message_id: null"
in the response for `get_subscriptions` example, that caused
`validate_against_openapi_schema` to throw an error.
Previously in desktop view, the realm day/night logo element is arranged
one by one which is not looking good since we have a lot of space on the
the right side of the logo elements so we can move day/night logo elements
to allow them being alongside.
In mobile view, we don't have any space on the right side of the logo
elements so we don't have to change anything.
Since `--postgres-missing-dictionaries` edits `/etc/zulip/zulip.conf`,
it interferes with the intent of `--no-overwrite-settings`.
Make the two settings conflict, to prevent this unclear state.
The `--no-init-db` option previously only controlled if
`initialize-database` was run, which sets up the tables inside the
database. If PostgreSQL was installed locally, it still attempted to
create the user and empty database.
This fails on hosts which are remote PostgreSQL hosts, and not
application hosts, as:
- They may already have a local database, and while
`initialize-datbase` will detect and offer to abort if one is
found,`--no-init-db` seems like it should be the option to not
overwrite it
- `flush-memcached` requires that a local venv be installed, which it
often is not on non-frontend machines.
Skip the database configuration when run with `--no-init-db`.
The `EXCLUDE_PROPERTIES` is a dictionary in `zerver/openapi/openapi.py`
which holds the undocumented properties of our API. Document all
properties other than:
*`delivery_email` which is in another PR.
*'events' and 'register'.
*'/setting/notification' since its response is about to undergo heavy
changes.
A generator that yields values without receiving or returning them is
an Iterator. Although every Iterator happens to be iterable, Iterable
is a confusing annotation for generators because a generator is only
iterable once.

In a decorator annotated with generic type (ViewFuncT) -> ViewFuncT,
the type variable ViewFuncT = TypeVar(…) must be instantiated to
the *same* type in both places. This amounts to a claim that the
decorator preserves the signature of the view function, which is not
the case for decorators that add a user_profile parameter.
The corrected annotations enforce no particular relationship between
the input and output signatures, which is not the ideal type we might
get if mypy supported variadic generics, but is better than enforcing
a relationship that is guaranteed to be wrong.
This removes a bunch of ‘# type: ignore[call-arg] # mypy doesn't seem
to apply the decorator’ annotations. Mypy does apply the decorator,
but the decorator’s incorrect annotation as signature-preserving made
it appear as if it didn’t.

Also enable warn_unused_ignores. I think the fact that there are so
few of these is good evidence that it’s not a significant burden for
people fixing type errors.
