Prettier would do this anyway, but it’s separated out for a more
reviewable diff. Generated by ESLint.

The get_active_humans and get_non_active_humans functions used
to return a list of user objects. The get_active_humans is used
on settings_users.js and settings_bots.js, and in both places the
only attributes needed of the person object are the user_id and
full_name.
To make the function return smaller, instead of a list of active
humans, we are returning a list of active human ids, saving memory.
With the ids we can call the people API to get the full_name attribute.
We use this new widget in bot settings panels
(personal and org). It lets you re-assign a
bot to a new human user.
Ideally we can improve this code to use
our existing list widgets to make it more
performant for realms with lots of users.
When reading the calling code, it's helpful to know
that we're really just passing in a selector. The
calls to open_modal/close_modal are nicer now to
reconcile with surrounding code, and you don't have
to guess whether the parameter is some kind of
"key" value--it really just refers directly to a DOM
element.
There is nothing user-visible about this change, but
the blueslip info messages now include the hash:
open modal: open #change_email_modal
This removes the weird edit-bot sidebar, replacing it with a modal,
matching our edit-user widget (and various similar ones).
Fixes#13644 by removing the buggy code.
This commit was originally automatically generated using `tools/lint
--only=eslint --fix`. It was then modified by tabbott to contain only
changes to a set of files that are unlikely to result in significant
merge conflicts with any open pull request, excluding about 20 files.
His plan is to merge the remaining changes with more precise care,
potentially involving merging parts of conflicting pull requests
before running the `eslint --fix` operation.

Because of the separate declarations, ESLint would convert them to
`let` and then trigger the `prefer-const` error.

With webpack, variables declared in each file are already file-local
(Global variables need to be explicitly exported), so these IIFEs are
no longer needed.

Also, options are now ordered from most restrictive to least restrictive.
A standard style here will be easier to understand and maintain as we add
more settings here.
This commit prepares the frontend code to be consumed by webpack.
It is a hack: In theory, modules should be declaring and importing the
modules they depend on and the globals they expose directly.
However, that requires significant per-module work, which we don't
really want to block moving our toolchain to webpack on.
So we expose the modules by setting window.varName = varName; as
needed in the js files.
The error handling for delete/reactivate was broken.
The old code related to appending id_suffix to the ids of
the per-bot error divs did not have corresponding
selectors in the actual error handling.
Things still aren't great, but there's a bit more
encapsulation now, and you'll see errors for the
delete/reactivate cases.
We want the Botserver to not only work with the
botserverrc, but also with a zuliprc of an outgoing
webhook. Because the Botserver uses the outgoing
webhook token for authentication, we need to include
it in the zuliprc for outgoing webhooks.
This is preparation for an upcoming refactoring where we pass a bot
ID, not the email/api_key, into the zuliprc generation functions in
the bots code path.
The Botserver uses section headers in the flaskbotrc to
determine which bot to run. Silently setting the section
headers to a bot's username is confusing and makes it
harder for Botserver users to figure out how to get the
Botserver to run the bots they want. This commit empties
all flaskbotrc section headers and thus makes the assignment
of bots explicit and mandatory.
Dropdown element for outgoing interface type was not showing correct
value, cause the way default value was set to dropdown was incorrect
(it should have been setting the selected parameter on the selected
option if it were going to be selected via the template code).
Fixes#9419.
Template was rendering undefined value of `bot_id` instead of
`user_id`.
Fix this by replacing `bot_id` with `user_id` and changing
template data variable to `data-user-id` to avoid
future confusion.
The former "the-bot-is-being-created" indicator was useless,
since it only edited the value attribute of the "create-bot" button;
that attribute only sets the text of a button when it is initially created.
This commit replaces the old code with a spinning loading indicator,
like the one used for editing bots.
All the event handler did was resetting some entries in the edit
bot form. This is unnecessary, because the whole form gets
destroyed anyway when closed.
This is done by rewriting JS manipulations of the DOM tree
in the bot-settings.handlebars template. Dead code involving
the affected JS variables is removed.
This is the first step in cleaning up the bot edit code.
Since the bot edit form appears dynamically, we remove
it from the static HTML scaffold, of which settings_sidebar
is a part of.
This is done by using a bot's ID instead of email in
the handler methods for bot_data.bots and bot_data.services,
and updating all code paths involved.
This adds UI fields in the bot settings for specifying
configuration values like API keys for a bot. The names
and placeholder values for each bot's config fields are
fetched from the bot's <bot>.conf template file in the
zulip_bots package. This also adds giphy and followup
as embedded bots.
Adds type "embedded bot" to bot creation menu. Lets
users select a bot to run from a list of bots.
Currently, this list is hard-coded into the backend.
interface_type select menu will be used to choose the interface
for outgoing webhooks. It will be displayed only when the selected
bot type is OUTGOING WEBHOOK type. The default value is GENERIC
interface type (1).
Creating a new bot (by filling out the bots related fields and clicking
"Create bot" button) changes tab from "Add a new bot" to "Active bots".
This is done to make users know/confirm that the bot has been created and
the user can view it in this tab.
Fixes: #5731
"Add a new bot" UI used to be common in "Active bots" and
"Inactive bots". "Add a new bot" UI was below the list of all
active/inactive bots.
If there were more than a few bots was more than four, then the user
had to scroll down the entire list of bots to "Add a new bot", which
was annoying. This new model makes the UI look cleaner as well.
Flaskbotrc is a file containing config of all active
outgoing webhook bots. It is used to provide configuration
of all active outgoing webhook bots to zulip-bot-server.
Add 'Type of bot' option for bots by adding dropdown option in
settings->"Your bots". For now, this allows creating incoming webhook
bots in addition to default bots.
This will enable users to add a bot as an incoming webhook
(in addition to add full-featured bots).
With various minor tweaks and cleanups by tabbott.
