To avoid some hidden bugs in tests caused by every ldap user having the
same password, we give each user a different password, generated based
on their uids (to avoid some ugly hard-coding in a bunch of places).
Previously, we didn't track opening and closing fences separately,
with led to bugs like not parsing a list that was immediately after
a quoted fence; we treated each ``` as a new fence.
This commit rewrites the function to maintain a stack of currently
open fences. If any of the parent fences is a code fence, we do not
insert a new line before a list.
We also add some test cases specifically to test this behavior with
complexly nested lists.

This commit has a side-effect that we also now allow mixed lists,
but they have different syntax from the commonmark implementation
and our marked output. For example, without the closing li tags:

With the server down, apply migrations 0245 and 0246. 0246 will remove
the pub_date column, so it's essential that the previous migrations
ran correctly to copy data before running this.
This brings us in line, and also allows us to style these more like
unordered lists, which is visually more appealing.
On the backend, we now use the default list blockprocessor + sane list
extension of python-markdown to get proper list markup; on the
frontend, we mostly return to upstream's code as they have followed
CommonMark on this issue.
Using <ol> here necessarily removes the behaviour of not renumbering
on lists written like 3, 4, 7; hopefully users will be OK with the
change.

Our implementation requires at least 1 space after the
'#' not not break existing linkifiers like '#123', etc.
that generally follow the convention we show in linkifier
examples.

For the frontend, we have taken the code from v0.7.0 of
upstream marked and made minor changes to avoid having
to refactor a significant part of our marked code.
For the backend, we merely have to change the regex to
force require spaces after #, and add hashheader to our
list of blockparsers.

Messages with links embedded in blockquotes turn out to be replies to
messages with links, more often than not. Showing previews for links in
replies seems like clutter, and it seems reasonable to turn off previews for
such links.

* Add a separate markdown test for de-duplicating inline previews
* Check for number of unique URLs to see if per limit message is crossed
* Use a set for processed URLs instead of a list
Fixes#8379.
The markup output changed but the rendering is the same, so modified
expected output in tests.
There is a regression introduced in one of the new versions of KaTeX,
which produces a warning in our node tests:

but the rendering is correct so we can ignore it.

When an emoji is nested inside another inline tag - like em or strong -
it was getting double processed because of the way the inlinePattern
TreeProcessor runs (it runs recursively). With this fix, we set the
inner text of the emoji span as an AtomicString, preventing us from
double processing the emoji's text.

* Add test case for **😄**, verify it passes.
* Go into local dev server and send "**😄**" to self and verify the DOM
does not have double <span> tags for the emoji.
* Run zerver.tests.test_push_notifications and verify the markdown test case matches
the text_content field properly
This fixes an issue where the hanging unordered list was not
rendering in blockquote; the problem was that we were not
adding an empty line(to satisfy the markdown) for hanging
unordered list if it is in blockquote. Both blockquote
and code block is fenced but we want to avoid rendering
the list if it's in the code block but not in blockquote.
Fixes: #11916.
This fixes an issue where invalid emoji name prevents following
emojis from rendering.
This reverts the code change in
8842349629, while still passing the
tests added in that commit (it seems the original commit had
misdiagnosed an ordering bug and thus introduced this issue).

This fixes an issue where blank lines between blocks were causing
auto-numbering of list to stop before the blank line resulting
in two separate numbered list instead of one.

We had disabled reference style links in bugdown, however,
we hadn't disabled them in marked. This commit rectifies
that and adds test cases for the same.

Closes#11195. We add a management command to allow us to send emails
to the email mirror directly. The command doesn't require any
configuring of email sending or receiving for the email mirror,
it passes the emails directly using the process_message function.
Fixes part 1 of #10612. We use a regex to remove RE:, FWD: (and similar
variations) from email subjects. Unit test is included, we add
subjects.json in fixtures containing various subjects to try the
stripping on.
When we create new ids for message rows, we
now sort the new ids by their corresponding
pub_date values in the rows.
This takes a sizable chunk of memory.
This feature only gets turned on if you
set sort_by_date to True in realm.json.
The output of generate_dev_ldap_dir was being tested against the fixture
located at zerver/tests/fixtures/ldap_dir.json. This didn't make much sense
as generate_dev_ldap_dir was itself used by developers to generate/update
the fixtures. Instead, test_generate_dev_ldap_dir checks the structure of
the dict returned by generate_dev_ldap_dir. The structure is checked by
regex checks, checking whether the dict contains some keys or not, etc.
Generates ldap_dir based on the mode and the no. of extra users.
It supports three modes, 'a', 'b' and 'c', description for which
can be found in prod_settings_templates.py.
Various pieces of our thumbor-based thumbnailing system were already
merged; this adds the remaining pieces required for it to work:
* a THUMBOR_URL Django setting that controls whether thumbor is
enabled on the Zulip server (and if so, where thumbor is hosted).
* Replaces the overly complicated prototype cryptography logic
* Adds a /thumbnail endpoint (supported both on web and mobile) for
accessing thumbnails in messages, designed to support hosting both
external URLs as well as uploaded files (and applying Zulip's
security model for access to thumbnails of uploaded files).
* Modifies bugdown to, when THUMBOR_URL is set, render images with the
`src` attribute pointing /thumbnail (to provide a small thumbnail
for the image), along with adding a "data-original" attribute that
can be used to access the "original/full" size version of the image.
There are a few things that don't work quite yet:
* The S3 backend support is incomplete and doesn't work yet.
* The error pages for unauthorized access are ugly.
* We might want to rename data-original and /thumbnail?size=original
to use some other name, like "full", that better reflects the fact
that we're potentially not serving the original image URL.
This migrates Zulip to use a dramatically better set of names and
aliases for our emoji set, defined in emoji_names.py (which is in turn
manually generated from our hand-curated CSV file).
This should significantly improve the experience of using Zulip's
emoji picker and emoji typeahead for finding what one is looking for.
Add 3 new Markdown emoji tests for newlines, emphasis, and links. The
goal of these tests is to ensure that Markdown operations concerning
emoji are preformed in proper order, with emoji being added correctly
based on other Markdown operations.

This bug is caused by the conversion of newlines to `<br>` statements,
since `>` is not allowed as a character around an emoticon during
translation.
Also, add a new test case for preventing this bug from occurring in the
future.
