python: Remove unnecessary list comprehension.
`all` can take a generator, not just a list.

Using a generator expression here is simpler and faster.

YashRE42 778b7c0bdb links: Replace all references to Django docs to link to /3.2/ version.
Previously, our codebase contained links to various versions of the
Django docs, eg https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.8/ref/
request-response/#django.http.HttpRequest and https://
docs.djangoproject.com/en/2.2/ref/settings/#std:setting-SERVER_EMAIL
opening a link to a doc with an outdated Django version would show a
warning "This document is for an insecure version of Django that is no
longer supported. Please upgrade to a newer release!".

Most of these links are inside comments.

Following the replacement of these links in our docs, this commit uses
a search with the regex "docs.djangoproject.com/en/([0-9].[0-9]*)/"
and replaces all matches with "docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.2/".

All the new links in this commit have been generated by the above
replace and each link has then been manually checked to ensure that
(1) the page still exists and has not been moved to a new location
(and it has been found that no page has been moved like this), (2)
that the anchor that we're linking to has not been changed (and it has
been found that no anchor has been changed like this).

One comment where we mentioned a Django version in text before linking
to a page for that version has also been changed, the comment
mentioned the specific version when a change happened, and the history
is no longer relevant to us.

PIG208 53888e5a26 request: Refactor ZulipRequestNotes to RequestNotes.
This utilizes the generic `BaseNotes` we added for multipurpose
patching. With this migration as an example, we can further support
more types of notes to replace the monkey-patching approach we have used
throughout the codebase for type safety.

PIG208 c03b9c95ad request: Store client information using ZulipRequestNotes.
This concludes the HttpRequest migration to eliminate arbitrary
attributes (except private ones that are belong to django) attached
to the request object during runtime and migrated them to a
separate data structure dedicated for the purpose of adding
information (so called notes) to a HttpRequest.

Riken Shah a96c614420 message: Fix the edit topic bug by removing leading \n from msg content.
The reason for this bug is because of different striping
processes in the backend and frontend, i.e The frontend
checks if the message's `raw_content` has changed to
decide if the `content` of the message should be sent in
the request to the backend, or not. So, it removes the
leading new line ('\n') from the message `raw_content`
when checking it, which is causing the "Error saving edit:
You don't have permission to edit this message" error.

This commit fixes it by removing the leading new line
when cleaning message content.

The bug was explained by @punchagan and its solution
by @timabbott.

that is filtered according to the former two parameters.

8e10ab282a moved UnexpectedWebhookEventType into
`zerver.lib.exceptions`, but left the import into

import the exception from there.

This clutters things and adds complexity; there is no compelling
reason that the exception's source of truth should not move alongside
all other exceptions.

Anders Kaseorg 69c0959f34 python: Fix misuse of Optional types for optional parameters.
There seems to have been a confusion between two different uses of the
word “optional”:

• An optional parameter may be omitted and replaced with a default
  value.
• An Optional type has None as a possible value.

Sometimes an optional parameter has a default value of None, or None
is otherwise a meaningful value to provide, in which case it makes
sense for the optional parameter to have an Optional type. But in
other cases, optional parameters should not have Optional type. Fix
them.

Anders Kaseorg 365fe0b3d5 python: Sort imports with isort.
Fixes #2665.

Regenerated by tabbott with `lint --fix` after a rebase and change in
parameters.

Note from tabbott: In a few cases, this converts technical debt in the
form of unsorted imports into different technical debt in the form of
our largest files having very long, ugly import sequences at the
start. I expect this change will increase pressure for us to split
those files, which isn't a bad thing.

This commit was split by tabbott; this piece covers the vast majority

We can likely further refine the remaining pieces with some testing.

Eeshan Garg 8e10ab282a webhooks: Log unexpected webhook events separately.
This change serves to declutter webhook-errors.log, which is
filled with too many UnexpectedWebhookEventType exceptions.

Keeping UnexpectedWebhookEventType in zerver/lib/webhooks/common.py
led to a cyclic import when we tried to import the exception in
zerver/decorators.py, so this commit also moves this exception to
another appropriate module. Note that our webhooks still import
this exception via zerver/lib/webhooks/common.py.

Hemanth V. Alluri ef52aa0fc1 webhooks: Eliminate the usage of a headers.py file.
For storing HTTP headers as a function of fixture name, previously
we required that the fixture_to_headers method should reside in a
separate module called headers.py.

However, as in many cases, this method will only take a few lines,
we decided to move this function into the view.py file of the
integration instead of requiring a whole new file called headers.py

This commit introduces the small change in the system architecture,
migrates the GitHub integration, and updates the docs accordingly.

Hemanth V. Alluri 4691028097 webhooks: Extract the '__' method of mapping to headers.
In the GitHub integration we established that for many integrations,
we can directly map the fixture filename to the set of required
headers and by following a simple naming convention we can greatly
ease the logic involved in fixture_to_headers method required .

So to prevent the need for duplicating the logic used by the GitHub
integration, we created a method called `get_http_headers_from_filename`
which will take the name of the HTTP header (key) and then return a
corresponding method (in a decorator-like fashion) which could then be
equated to fixture_to_headers in headers.py.

The GitHub integration was modified to use this method and the docs
were updated to suggest using this when possible.

Hemanth V. Alluri e2549b3b84 webhooks: Replace headers parsing logic with a common source.
When parsing custom HTTP headers in the integrations dev panel, http
headers from fixtures system and the send_webhook_fixture_message
we now use a singular source of logic: standardize_headers which
will take care of converting a dictionary of input headers into a
standard form that Django expects.
2019-06-24 13:23:21 -07:00
Hemanth V. Alluri 7c145c3f68 webhooks: Add a system for storing http headers for integrations.
Using this system, we can now associate any fixture of any integration
with a particular set of HTTP headers. A helper method called
determine_http_headers was introduced, and the test suite was upgraded
to use determine_http_headers.

Comments and documentation significantly edited by tabbott.

Recently, one of our users reported that a JIRA webhook was not
able to send messages to a stream with a space character in its
name. Turns out that JIRA does something weird with webhook URLs,
such that escaped space characters (%20) are escaped again, so
that when the request gets to Zulip, the double escaped %20 is
evaluated as the literal characters `%20`, and not as a space.

We fix this by unescaping the stream name on our end before
sending the message forward!

Eeshan Garg 67045d65a9 webhooks/gitlab: Include title in Issue Hook event messages.
We already include the issue title in the topic. But if one chooses
to group all gitlab notifications under one topic, the message body
is misleading in the sense that only the Issue ID and the description
are displayed, not the title, which isn't super helpful if the topic
doesn't tell you the title either.

I think we should err on the side of always including the title in
the main message body, which is what this commit does.
