Sahil Batra a6fa875c23 models: Refactor get_fake_email_domain to take realm.host as arg.
This commit updates get_fake_email_domain to accept realm.host as
argument instead of the Realm object since we only use realm.host
to get the fake email domain.

This is a preparatory commit for the limited guest feature as we
would be sending the fake email of the message sender in message
event object to a guest user who cannot access the sender and
there we would need to compute the fake email.

Tim Abbott c6fe799369 i18n: Fix default language for users created via API/LDAP.
This fixes a regression introduced in
9954db4b59, where the realm's default
language would be ignored for users created via API/LDAP/SAML,
resulting in all such users having English as their default language.

The API/LDAP/SAML account creation code paths don't have a request,
and thus cannot pull default language from the user's browser.

We have the `realm.default_language` field intended for this use case,
but it was not being passed through the system.

Rather than pass `realm.default_language` through from each caller, we
make the low-level user creation code set this field, as that seems
more robust to the creation of future callers.

Alex Vandiver c978bfaa32 models: Add a unique index on UserProfile.api_key.
This prevents `get_user_profile_by_api_key` from doing a sequential
scan.

Doing this requires moving the generation of initial api_key values
into the column definition, so that even bare calls to
`UserProfile.objects.create` (e.g. from tests) call appropriately
generate a random initial value.

Sahil Batra 36584a3571 registration: Add code to set email_address_visibility during signup.
This commit adds backend code to set email_address_visibility when
registering a new user. The realm-level default and the value of
source profile gets overridden by the value user selected during
signup.

Sahil Batra 0ed5f76063 settings: Add backend code for using user email_address_visibility setting.
This commits update the code to use user-level email_address_visibility
setting instead of realm-level to set or update the value of UserProfile.email
field and to send the emails to clients.

Major changes are -

- UserProfile.email field is set while creating the user according to
RealmUserDefault.email_address_visbility.

- UserProfile.email field is updated according to change in the setting.

- 'email_address_visibility' is added to person objects in user add event
and in avatar change event.

- client_gravatar can be different for different users when computing
avatar_url for messages and user objects since email available to clients
is dependent on user-level setting.

- For bots, email_address_visibility is set to EVERYONE while creating
them irrespective of realm-default value.

- Test changes are basically setting user-level setting instead of realm
setting and modifying the checks accordingly.

Anders Kaseorg 1385a827c2 python: Clean up getattr, setattr, delattr calls with literal names.
These were useful as a transitional workaround to ignore type errors
that only show up with django-stubs, while avoiding errors about
unused type: ignore comments without django-stubs. Now that the
django-stubs transition is complete, switch to type: ignore comments
so that mypy will tell us if they become unnecessary. Many already
have.

Sahil Batra aa98b39429 bulk_create: Copy realm-level defaults in bulk_create_users.
This commit adds code to copy the realm-level default of
settings while creating users through bulk_create_users.

We do not directly call 'copy_default_settings' as it
calls ".save()" but here we want to bulk_create the objects
for efficiency.

We also add the code to set realm-default of enter_sends as
True for the Zulip dev server as done in 754b547e8 and thus
we remove enter_sends argument from create_user_profile as
it is of no use now.

sahil839 8bab712cb4 create_user: Initialize settings according to realm-level defaults.
This commit modifies the copy_user_settings code such that instead
of source user profile, we can have two types of sources - a user
profile and RealmUserDefault table of realm and then set the
settings from RealmUserDefault only is there is no user profile
as a source.

We also rename copy_user_settings to copy_default_settings for
clarity.

Sahil Batra 03a0cfda64 settings: Set enable_marketing_emails after copying user settings.
We set the enable_marketing_emails setting after copying user
settings to override the value selected in registration form.
This change is also necessary because enable_marketing_emails
field is present in RealmUserDefault to avoid copying code
but we do not use this value actually and instead we want
the setting to be set according to the value in registration
form.

We set this setting only for non-bot users since we generally
do not set any settings for bots.

sahil839 a4c3224328 users: Remove redundant get_role_for_new_user in lib/create_user.py.
The function get_role_for_new_user was added to get role from the
invited_as value, as invited_as values were one of (1,2,3,4)
previously, but it was then changed to be the actual role value,
i.e. one of (100, 200, 400, 600), in 1f8f227444.

So, we can safely remove this function now and use invited_as value
directly and handle realm_creation case by using an if condition.

Steve Howell c44500175d database: Remove short_name from UserProfile.
A few major themes here:

    - We remove short_name from UserProfile
      and add the appropriate migration.

    - We remove short_name from various
      cache-related lists of fields.

    - We allow import tools to continue to
write short_name to their export files,
and then we simply ignore the field
      at import time.

    - We change functions like do_create_user,
      create_user_profile, etc.

    - We keep short_name in the /json/bots
API. (It actually gets turned into
      an email.)

    - We don't modify our LDAP code much
      here.

Tim Abbott a5be2a30fa events: Fix buggy realm_user/update events during user creation.
We've been seeing an exception in server_event_dispatch.js in
production where in large organizations, sometimes when a new user
joined, every other browser in the organization would throw an
exception processing some sort of realm_user/update event.

It turns out the cause was that when a user copies their profile from
an existing user account with a user-uploaded avatar, the code path we
reused to set the avatar properly send a realm_user/update event about
the avatar change -- for a user that hadn't been fully created and
certainly hadn't have the realm_user/add event sent for.

We fix this and add tests and comments to prevent it recurring.

(Removed an incorrect docstring while working on this).

Anders Kaseorg 69c0959f34 python: Fix misuse of Optional types for optional parameters.
There seems to have been a confusion between two different uses of the
word “optional”:

• An optional parameter may be omitted and replaced with a default
  value.
• An Optional type has None as a possible value.

Sometimes an optional parameter has a default value of None, or None
is otherwise a meaningful value to provide, in which case it makes
sense for the optional parameter to have an Optional type. But in
other cases, optional parameters should not have Optional type. Fix
them.

Regenerated by tabbott with `lint --fix` after a rebase and change in

Note from tabbott: In a few cases, this converts technical debt in the
form of unsorted imports into different technical debt in the form of
our largest files having very long, ugly import sequences at the
start. I expect this change will increase pressure for us to split
those files, which isn't a bad thing.

Mateusz Mandera 8acfa17fe6 models: Add recipient foreign key in UserProfile and Stream.
This is adds foreign keys to the corresponding Recipient object in the
UserProfile on Stream tables, a denormalization intended to improve
performance as this is a common query.

In the migration for setting the field correctly for existing users,
we do a direct SQL query (because Django 1.11 doesn't provide any good
method for doing it properly in bulk using the ORM.).

A consequence of this change to the model is that a bit of code needs
to be added to the functions responsible for creating new users (to
set the field after the Recipient object gets created). Fortunately,
there's only a few code paths for doing that.

Also an adjustment is needed in the import system - this introduces a
circular relation between Recipient and UserProfile. The field cannot be
set until the Recipient objects have been created, but UserProfiles need
to be created before their corresponding Recipients. We deal with this
by first importing UserProfiles same way as before, but we leave the
personal_recipient field uninitialized. After creating the Recipient
objects, we call a function to set the field for all the imported users
in bulk.

A similar change is made for managing Stream objects.

Mateusz Mandera d70e1bcdb7 settings: Add FAKE_EMAIL_DOMAIN setting.
Fixes #9401.

This adds a FAKE_EMAIL_DOMAIN setting, which should be used if
EXTERNAL_HOST is not a valid domain, and something else is needed to
form bot and dummy user emails (if email visibility is turned off).
It defaults to EXTERNAL_HOST.

get_fake_email_domain() should be used to get this value. It validates
that it's correctly set - that it can be used to form valid emails.

If it's not set correctly, an exception is raised. This is the right
approach, because it's undesirable to have the server seemingly
peacefully operating with that setting misconfigured, as that could
mask some hidden sneaky bugs due to UserProfiles with invalid emails,
which would blow up the moment some code that does validate the emails
is called.
