The field_data sent from client while creating a select
type field is a dict with a number as key.
In development database the field data for "Favorite editor"
field was of different form where the option label was used
as key in the dict.
This commit fixes it to be of the same as it is when creating
a field from web-app. As a result, we also need to update
the tests and this commit also update field_data for other
select-type fields.
This refactors the test case with more explicit type annotations, fixing
type errors discovered provided type annotations for
`CustomProfileField`.

The mypy django-stubs plugin incorrectly infers optional value for order,
which makes the `value_list` to be typed as `Iterable[Optional[int]]`.
We use a type cast here to ensure that
`try_reorder_relam_custom_profile_fields` won't causes mypy to complain
about it.
TODO: Remove the cast when https://github.com/typeddjango/django-stubs/issues/444 gets resovled.

This error message is for a very precise situation -- the pattern not
having the desired format. We should say that, rather than a generic
"Malformed".
Currently an user can create multiple options with same text/label in
the select/"list of options" custom profile field type.
Fix this issue by extending the validator to throw an error if there
are duplicate choices in the "list of options" in custom profile
field.
Tweaked by tabbott to use a simpler check.
Fixes: #21880
`update_realm_custom_profile_field` does not take `field_type`
as a parameter, so this removes it from any related tests.
Possibly these test parameters were missed in a refactor of this
endpoint / code.
None of the existing custom profile field types have the value as an
integer like declared in many places - nor is it a string like currently
decalred in types.py. The correct type is Union[str, List[int]]. Rather
than tracking this in so many places throughout the codebase, we add a
new ProfileDataElementValue type and insert it where appropriate.
This adds a new class called MessageRenderingResult to contain the
additional properties we added to the Message object (like alert_words)
as well as the rendered content to ensure typesafe reference. No
behavioral change is made except changes in typing.
This is a preparatory change for adding django-stubs to the backend.

"always_notify" for some reason, but always_notify clearly isn't a real
thing in this context so the comments need to be fixed to eliminate this
potential source of confusion.
This commit modifies the user objects returned by 'GET /users',
'GET /users/me', 'GET /users/{user_id}' and 'GET /users/{email}'
endpoints to include role field.
We also include role field in the page_params['realm_users'] dict
and in the person object sent in (type="realm_user", op="add")
event.
Prior to this commit whenever convert was imported from zerver.lib.markdown
it was aliased as markdown_convert for readability.
This commit rename convert function to markdown_convert so that it can be
directly import it without aliasing and without compromising readability.
This commit is first of few commita which aim to change all the
bugdown references to markdown. This commits rename the files,
file path mentions and change the imports.
Variables and other references to bugdown will be renamed in susequent
commits.
Fixes#2665.
Regenerated by tabbott with `lint --fix` after a rebase and change in
parameters.
Note from tabbott: In a few cases, this converts technical debt in the
form of unsorted imports into different technical debt in the form of
our largest files having very long, ugly import sequences at the
start. I expect this change will increase pressure for us to split
those files, which isn't a bad thing.

We're migrating to using the cleaner zulip.com domain, which involves
changing all of our links from ReadTheDocs and other places to point
to the cleaner URL.
This commit removes short_name and client_id fields from the user
objects returned by get_profile_backend because neither of them
had a purpose.
* short_name hasn't been present anywhere else in the Zulip API for
several years, and isn't set through any coherent algorithm.
* client_id was a forgotten 2013-era predecessor to the queue_id field
returned by the register_event_queue process.
The combination of these changes gets us close to having `get_profile`
have the exact same format as other endpoints fetching a user object.
This commit changes get_profile_backend to be based on format_user_row
such that it's a superset of the fields for our other endpoints for
getting data on a user.
To be clear, this does not removes any of the exisiting fields, that
were returned by this endpoint.
This change adds some fields to the User object returned by the
endpoint. API docs are updated accordingly for the added fields.

mock is just a backport of the standard library’s unittest.mock now.
The SAMLAuthBackendTest change is needed because
MagicMock.call_args.args wasn’t introduced until Python
3.8 (https://bugs.python.org/issue21269).
The PROVISION_VERSION bump is skipped because mock is still an
indirect dev requirement via moto.

When a user changes its avatar image, the user's avatar in popovers
wasn't being correctly updated, because of browser caching of the
avatar image. We added a version on the request to get the image in
the same format we use elsewhere, so the browser knows when to use the
cached image or to make a new request to the server.
Edited by Tim to preserve/fix sort orders in some tests, and update
zulip_feature_level.
