Alex Vandiver 9e02e562bb confirmation: Use BigInteger to match other models' "id" field.
Without this, Django builds queries with which compare tables' "id"
fields to `("confirmation_confirmation"."object_id")::bigint`; the
explicit cast prevents the index added in the previous commit from
being used.

Alex Vandiver fcb04598f0 confirmation: Add an index on content_type, object_id.
This makes lookups of `.confirmation`, or joins through
`confirmation__` as we do in the `/json/invites`, actually fast. See

Alex Vandiver 50c3dd88e6 models: Migrate ids of all non-Message-related tables to bigint.
Migrate all `ids` of anything which does not have a foreign key from
the Message or UserMessage table (and would thus require walking
those) to be `bigint`. This is done by removing explicit
`BigAutoField`s, trading them for explicit `AutoField`s on the tables
to not be migrated, while updating `DEFAULT_AUTO_FIELD` to the new
default.

In general, the tables adjusted in this commit are small tables -- at
least compared to Messages and UserMessages.

Many-to-many tables without their own model class are adjusted by a
custom Operation, since they do not automatically pick up migrations
when `DEFAULT_AUTO_FIELD` changes[^1].

Note that this does multiple scans over tables to update foreign
keys[^2]. Large installs may wish to hand-optimize this using the
output of `./manage.py sqlmigrate` to join multiple `ALTER TABLE`
statements into one, to speed up the migration. This is unfortunately
not possible to do generically, as constraint names may differ between
installations.

This leaves the following primary keys as non-`bigint`:
- `auth_group.id`
- `auth_group_permissions.id`
- `auth_permission.id`
- `django_content_type.id`
- `django_migrations.id`
- `otp_static_staticdevice.id`
- `otp_static_statictoken.id`
- `otp_totp_totpdevice.id`
- `two_factor_phonedevice.id`
- `zerver_archivedmessage.id`
- `zerver_client.id`
- `zerver_message.id`
- `zerver_realm.id`
- `zerver_recipient.id`
- `zerver_userprofile.id`

Alex Vandiver 53b30ed65d confirmation: Migrate Confirmation to bigint.
This model has no external references, and is among the larger
tables. Migrate it to bigint.

Anders Kaseorg df001db1a9 black: Reformat with Black 23.
Black 23 enforces some slightly more specific rules about empty line
counts and redundant parenthesis removal, but the result is still
compatible with Black 22.

(This does not actually upgrade our Python environment to Black 23
yet.)

Sahil Batra 392b17da5f invite: Add backend support for "Never expires" option.
The database value for expiry_date is None for the invite
that will never expire and the clients send -1 as value
in the API similar to the message retention setting.

Also, when passing invite_expire_in_days as an argument
in various functions, invite_expire_in_days is passed as
-1 for "Never expires" option since invite_expire_in_days
is an optional argument in some functions and thus we cannot
pass "None" value.

take to run. Additionally, document this migration in the upgrade notes.

Mateusz Mandera 9caa71c7fd confirmation: Migration to add expiry_date - last step.
With the previous steps, all Confirmation objects should have been
migrated and the expiry_date field is being used for checking
confirmation validity - so all that's left is to set the NOT NULL
constraint on the column.

Mateusz Mandera 18ad18c025 confirmation: Migration to add expiry_date step 2 - backfill. 2021-09-10 16:53:02 -07:00
Mateusz Mandera 676edb3802 confirmation: Migration to add expiry_date step 1.
The commit:
1. Adds the new field as nullable.
2. Adds code that'll create new Confirmation with the field set
   correctly.
3. For verifying validity of Confirmation object this still uses the old
logic in get_object_from_key() to keep things functioning until we
backfill the old objects in the next step.

Thus this commit is deployable. Next we'll have a commit to run a
backfill migration.

Anders Kaseorg 365fe0b3d5 python: Sort imports with isort.
Fixes #2665.

Regenerated by tabbott with `lint --fix` after a rebase and change in
parameters.

Note from tabbott: In a few cases, this converts technical debt in the
form of unsorted imports into different technical debt in the form of
our largest files having very long, ugly import sequences at the
start. I expect this change will increase pressure for us to split
those files, which isn't a bad thing.

Tim Abbott 3abb52476c confirmation: Add database indexes on confirmation fields.
Apparently, we didn't have any database indexes on Confirmation, which
meant that on servers with large numbers of users like zulipchat.com,
new account registration could spend a ton of time effectively doing a
table scan on this table.

Rishi Gupta 5d168c90f9 confirmation: Remove ConfirmationManager.
Also adds Confirmation.type, and cleans up the rest of Confirmation to look
more like the model definitions in zerver.

In the migration, all existing confirmations adopt the type
USER_REGISTRATION, to be conservative. In a few commits, different
confirmation types will have different validity periods, and
USER_REGISTRATION will have the shortest default.
