Aman Agrawal f07ed8b6b3 hashchange: Restore narrow state on `escape` keypress to `feed`.
If user goes to combined feed view on escape keypress, then
we restore their narrow pointer and offset by restoring it from
browser history if the their last narrow was the combined feed view.

Lauryn Menard 8e953d9896 streams-settings-overlay: Update hash for stream to channel rename.
Updates the base hash for the streams setting overlay to be
"channels" instead of "streams".

Because there are Welcome Bot and Notification Bot messages that
would have been sent with the "/#streams" hash, we will need to
support parsing those overlay hashes as an alias for "/#channels"
permanently.

Part of the stream to channels rename project.

Aman Agrawal 103c37f23a message_list: Don't always cache "Combined feed" view.
Important changes in this commit:
* We only cache message list for "Combined feed" if it is the
  default view.

* We modify existing handling of home message list code so that
it can be used to for any message list that we want to cache
  using a new `preserve_rendered_state` variable.

* narrow_state.filter() returns the filter of combined feed view list
  instead of `undefined`.

* We start fetching messages from the latest message on app load.

* Messages in all messages data and Recent view are always synced.

* If combined feed view list is not cached, we don't track it's
last pointer, effectively sending user to the latest unread
  message always .

tnmkr 25cca93bc9 stream_settings: Show relevant streams in left panel.
We want to make the default stream listing more relevant. To do this,
we always show "All streams" tab when stream is opened from another
user's profile. From other places, we show "Subscribed" if the user
is subscribed to the stream they are trying to edit otherwise
"All streams" are shown.

tnmkr 9275a8ded4 group_settings: Show relevant groups in left panel.
We want to make default group listing in left panel more relevant.
Thus "All groups" are shown when group is opened from another user's
profile. From other places, "Your groups" are shown if the user is in
the group they are trying to edit otherwise "All groups" are shown.

Sahil Batra 2fe36cc0d7 group-settings: Handle invalid urls correctly.
There were couple of problems in our handling of invalid or
incomplete URLs-
- The browser back button behavior breaks if someone enters
url with invalid group ID, incorrect group name.
- On typing group edit URLs with invalid group ID, an error
was raised and the URLs remained the same with just opening
the groups overlay with "Your" tab selected in left panel.
- On typing group edit URLs with incorrect right side tab or
without any right side tab, we showed "general" section, which
is fine, but the URL was still incorrect.

This commit fixes the above mentioned problems-
- URLs with invalid group IDs are now handled gracefully
with groups UI opening in the same way as before but the
url is updated to "#groups/your".
- We now update the right side tab to "general" if right
side tab is invalid or there is no right side tab.
- All the URL updates to fix invalid urls are done using
"history.replaceState" to make sure the browser back button
behaves as expected.
- All the code for checking the urls is done in hashchange.js
itself, so we can remove some code from change_state.

Sahil Batra eea5ee8923 stream-settings: Handle invalid urls correctly.
There were couple of problems in our handling of invalid or
incomplete URLs-
- The browser back button behavior breaks if someone enters
url with invalid or inaccessible stream ID, incorrect stream
name, "#streams/new" url without permission to create streams.
- On typing stream edit URLs with incorrect right side tab or
without any right side tab, we showed "general" section, which
is fine, but the URL was still incorrect.

This commit fixes the above mentioned problems-
- We now update the right side tab to "general" if right
side tab is invalid or there is no right side tab.

Sahil Batra 61d481559f group_settings: Include tab selected in right section in url hash.

Pratik cad051e5a6 user_profile: Enable dynamic URL generation for "View profile" option.
Clicking on "View profile" option now dynamically generates a URL,
allowing the user profile modal to open. Upon closing the modal,
the URL is reverted back to one that was active before the modal
was opened.

Additionally, It displays a profile access error modal when a user
attempts to either view an inaccessible profile or when an invalid
user id is present in the URL.

Anders Kaseorg e96ede0ef6 page_params: Split out state data for current user.
For spectators, the chunk of page_params that originates from
do_events_register isn’t assigned until ui_init.js. That means the
TypeScript type of page_params is mostly a lie during module load
time: reading a parameter too early silently results in undefined
rather than the declared type, with unpredictable results later on.

We want to make such an early read into an immediate runtime error,
for both users and spectators consistently, and pave the way for
runtime validation of the page_params type. As a first step, split
out the subset of fields that pertain to the current user.

N-Shar-ma 727774a0e5 refactor: Extract `get_nth_hash_section()` and use 0-based indexing.
From `get_current_nth_hash_section` `get_nth_hash_section()` is
extracted to allow for reuse for any hash. The indexing is also changed
to 0-based and negative indexing also works now.

This is a prep commit for the next, where `get_nth_hash_section()` will
be used in a new function with negative indexing.

Sahil Batra a87de19aa7 groups_settings: Fix browser back button for groups overlay.
There is no problem in behavior of browser back button if we open
the group settings overlay using "#groups/your", "#groups/all" or
"#groups/new" url hash, but someone can directly go to a link with
"#groups" and in this case we want to fix the browser back button.

This commit replaces "#groups" entry with "#groups/your" which is the
default section opened, such that pressing back when on "#groups/your"
does not go to "#groups", which will then a form a cycle and instead
go back actually.

Tim Abbott 7a6f288fab narrow: Move maybe_scroll_to_selected call.
This should now happen at the same time it did prior to this change,
without requiring the show_all_message_view wrapper to have any
business logic.

This fixes a potential scroll position bug in the event that
narrow.deactivate in fact calls itself recursively after a timeout.

Tim Abbott eabab840e9 narrow: Hide inbox/recent views inside deactivate.
We already do a very parallel construction in narrow.activate, so this
moves us towards being able to unify those code paths, while also just
being more readable by avoiding a small-but-important wrapper function
in hashchange.js.

I believe this fixes a bug where we were not saving scroll position in
browser history when navigating to "All messages" from another view.

Tim Abbott d505a3c8b7 hashchange: Fix duplicate hides of inbox/recent views.
Since at least 6ef0753a51, it's been the
case that narrow.activate already hides the inbox/recent views if
open, and the same is true for all messages.

Fixing the duplicate call is important in show_home_view, because
show_all_message_view relies on having an accurate value for whether the
recent/inbox views were already open in order to correctly update the
left sidebar.

Tim Abbott a3842584dd hashchange: Fix flicker when navigating to all messages.
Testing experimentally, removing the setTimeout seems to fix a visible
flicker when using Esc to navigate to "All messages" from the Inbox
view. That setTimeout has been moved around without real examination
since 5d79bb6a20 from early 2013; I
don't see any good reason why it would make be necessary only in the
"All messages" code path, and not when narrowing to any other view.

Tim Abbott 0f01eae655 narrow: Simplify actively_scrolling data flow.
There's no good reason to have the caller of deactivate pass this
parameter in.

This effectively reverts a18b1662cb,
which did this as part of trying to avoid an import cycle, with a more
appropriate solution using the existing message_scroll_state module.

Importantly, it also means that we again wait for scrolls longer than
50ms to finish before opening All messages; I think this might fix a
regression.
