This commit renames the "Huddle" Django model class to
"DirectMessageGroup", while maintaining the same table --
"zerver_huddle".
Fixes part of #28640.
Hash the salt, user-id, and now avatar version into the filename.
This allows the URL contents to be immutable, and thus to be marked as
immutable and cacheable. Since avatars are served unauthenticated,
hashing with a server-side salt makes the current and past avatars not
enumerable.
This requires plumbing the current (or future) avatar version through
various parts of the upload process.
Since this already requires a full migration of current avatars, also
take the opportunity to fix the missing `.png` on S3 uploads (#12852).
We switch from SHA-1 to SHA-256, but truncate it such that avatar URL
data does not substantially increase in size.
Fixes: #12852.
This prep commit adds a new OnboardingUserMessage model
that will be used to mark the new onboarding messages
for new users as unread and the first message of each
onboarding topic as starred.
This table won't include the old onboarding messages.
This commit performs a sweep on the first batch of non API
files to rename "huddle" to "direct_message_group`.
It also renames variables and methods of type -
"huddle_message" to "group_direct_message".
This is a part of #28640
Earlier, we were creating RealmAuditLog with REALM_EXPORTED
event_type when export of public data took place via organization
settings panel.
We were not creating the audit log when the export was executed
via shell i.e './manage.py export'.
This commit creates the audit log in that case too. It will
help during import to distinguish readily between imports
from another Zulip server vs imports from another product.
Replaced HUDDLE attribute with DIRECT_MESSAGE_GROUP using VS Code search,
part of a general renaming of the object class.
Fixes part of #28640.

This migration applies under the assumption that extra_data_json has
been populated for all existing and coming audit log entries.
- This removes the manual conversions back and forth for extra_data
throughout the codebase including the orjson.loads(), orjson.dumps(),
and str() calls.
- The custom handler used for converting Decimal is removed since
DjangoJSONEncoder handles that for extra_data.
- We remove None-checks for extra_data because it is now no longer
nullable.
- Meanwhile, we want the bouncer to support processing RealmAuditLog entries for
remote servers before and after the JSONField migration on extra_data.
- Since now extra_data should always be a dict for the newer remote
server, which is now migrated, the test cases are updated to create
RealmAuditLog objects by passing a dict for extra_data before
sending over the analytics data. Note that while JSONField allows for
non-dict values, a proper remote server always passes a dict for
extra_data.
- We still test out the legacy extra_data format because not all
remote servers have migrated to use JSONField extra_data.
This verifies that support for extra_data being a string or None has not
been dropped.

This commit adds code to pass all the required arguments to
select_related call for Subscription objects such that only
the required related fields are fetched from the database.
Previously, we did not pass any arguments to select_related,
so all the directly and indirectly related fields were fetched
when many of them were actually not being used and made the
query unnecessarily complex.
If there are two huddles, with users A + B + C + D and A + B + C, and
user D is deleted, it is replaced with a mirrordummy user. If
mirrordummy subscriptions are not included in exports, then the two
huddles have duplicate member sets, and will not be able to be
imported successfully.
Include huddle subscriptions for mirrordummy users in exports.
Fixes#25414.
We add Attachment.scheduled_messages relation to track ScheduledMessages
which reference the attachment.
The import bits can be done after merging this, by updating #25345.
This implements the core of the rewrite described in:
For the backend data model for UserPresence to one that supports much
more efficient queries and is more correct around handling of multiple
clients. The main loss of functionality is that we no longer track
which Client sent presence data (so we will no longer be able to say
using UserPresence "the user was last online on their desktop 15
minutes ago, but was online with their phone 3 minutes ago"). If we
consider that information important for the occasional investigation
query, we have can construct that answer data via UserActivity
already. It's not worth making Presence much more expensive/complex
to support it.
For slim_presence clients, this sends the same data format we sent
before, albeit with less complexity involved in constructing it. Note
that we at present will always send both last_active_time and
last_connected_time; we may revisit that in the future.
This commit doesn't include the finalizing migration, which drops the
UserPresenceOld table.
The way to deploy is to start the backfill migration with the server
down and then start the server *without* the user_presence queue worker,
to let the migration finish without having new data interfering with it.
Once the migration is done, the queue worker can be started, leading to
the presence data catching up to the current state as the queue worker
goes over the queued up events and updating the UserPresence table.

So far, we've used the BitField .authentication_methods on Realm
for tracking which backends are enabled for an organization. This
however made it a pain to add new backends (requiring altering the
column and a migration - particularly troublesome if someone wanted to
create their own custom auth backend for their server).
Instead this will be tracked through the existence of the appropriate
rows in the RealmAuthenticationMethods table.
This commit adds PreregistrationRealm class which will be
similar to PreregistrationUser and will store initial
information of the realm before its creation as we are
changing the organization creation flow as per #24307.
Fixes part of #24307.
Black 23 enforces some slightly more specific rules about empty line
counts and redundant parenthesis removal, but the result is still
compatible with Black 22.

yet.)

Enforcing a consistent `type` helps us double-check that we're not
playing fast-and-loose with any file paths for local files. As noted
in the comment, this is purely for defense-in-depth.
Passing `write_local_file` a consistent `type` requires removing the
"avatars" out of `realm_avatar_and_logo_path` -- which makes it
consistent across upload backends.
This, in turn, requires a compensatory change to zerver.lib.export, to
be explicit that the realm icons are exported from the avatars
directory. This clarity is likely an improvement.
‘logging.warning("Naive datetime:", item)’ is an invalid call that
crashes with “TypeError: not all arguments converted during string
formatting”. I take that to mean this check has not been tripped in
the six years it’s been there, and can safely be replaced with an
error.

As mentioned in the TODO this commit deletes, the export with member
consent system was failing to account for the fact that if consenting
users only have access to a subset of messages of a stream with
protected history, only that subset should be exported - rather than all
the stream's messages.
