This dramatically reduces the Tornado downtime when restarting a Zulip
server, which is generally the most significant source of user-facing
bad experiences.
This deduplicate code for the checkboxes which are dependent on other
parameters and it makes no sense changing them when that parameter is
false. For example, changing `message_content_in_email_notifications`
makes sense only when `enable_offline_email_notifications` is true.
There is need for such a helper because `unless` executes to be true even
when we haven't passed the context variable on which we are checking the
conditional statement.
This commit adds a test for the payload that is generated when
a Task is moved from one user story to another on Taiga's Sprint
Taskboard UI.
This commit also gets up this webhook's test coverage up to 100%.
I generated multiple payloads and verified that there are no
`change` event payloads that will not contain the values in
question, so it is useless to catch these KeyErrors. If there are
any anomalies still, it is better to be notified about them than
to silently ignore them.
The Zulip API is to be used on both development and production
servers, and really we just need to talk about zuliprc files.
There's a similar issue for the JS docs, but we need to fix the
copy/paste issues with those as well.
When using the Python 3 typing style, Python scripts can't import from
typing inside an `if False` (in contrast, one needs to import inside
an `if False` to support the Python 3 syntax without needing
python-typing installed). So this was just incorrectly half-converted
from the Python 2 style to the Python 3 style.
Before, presence information for an entire realm could only be queried via
the `POST /api/v1/users/me/presence` endpoint. However, this endpoint also
updates the presence information for the user making the request. Therefore,
bot users are not allowed to access this endpoint because they don't have
any presence data.
This commit adds a new endpoint `GET /api/v1/realm/presence` that just
returns the presence information for the realm of the caller.
Fixes#10651.
Even individual "room" files from hipchat can be large,
so we process only 1000 messages at a time
within each file, which produces smaller JSON files.
We drop support for usage of `icon-vector` as base class when
including icons from font awesome icons package.
Now on, only icons as specified in font awesome v4.7.0 can be used
in the code base.
We now ask compose_pm_pill to give us a list of user
ids that we are PM'ing to, and we only convert user
ids to emails right before we put requests on the wire.
We also let the "pill system" tell us whether we
have unconverted data.
It also sets up for an upcoming server change where we
can just send user ids to the server.
This change should be transparent to the majority of users.
For Zephyr users we are slightly less aggressive about
sending typing indicators, since we now require valid
user ids.
We don't want really long urls to lead to truncated
keys, or we could theoretically have two different
urls get mixed up previews.
Also, this suppresses warnings about exceeding the
250 char limit.
Finally, this gives the key a proper prefix.
