This commit refactors change_display_setting function to accept
url as a paramter instead of directly using '/json/settings'
such that we can use the same function for realm-level settings.
This commit refactors change_display_setting function to
accept container element as a paramter and then determine
the correct status element from it. This is the prep commit
for adding realm-level default settings UI.
We add a prefix to id of default_language_modal.hbs
such that we can use the same code for user settings
and realm-level settings.
We also add a class "default_language_modal" to the
modal div to avoid duplicate css.
This is a prep commit for adding UI for realm-level
default of user settings. We refactor the code to use
classes instead of ids such that we can use the common
code for the new settings.
We were using incorrect element as we changed the input from
select to radio buttons in 439bc2920a.
This code was originally added in 6cb03ea78e (though in a
different file) and was removed from sometime and then added
again in e7311cdf5d. But in the meantime the input was
changed to radio, which resulted in incorrect code.
We were using emojiset_spinner element in destroy_indicator, but
there is no such element and emoji-settings-status element is used
in make_indicator, so destroy_indicator should also use the same
element.
This was added originally in 6cb03ea78e (though in a different
file) and was removed for sometime and then readded in e7311cdf5d.
But between these two commits, the setting was changed to be a
radio element and thus the spinner elements were also changed.
We have merged the '/settings/display' and 'settings/notifications'
endpoints to '/settings' in backend. This commit updates the
frontend code to '/settings' endpoint for updating display settings
instead of '/settings/display' endpoint.
The user timezone is only used for user's profile, so we can
move this setting to the Profile panel of settings and this
will also help us in covering some space when there are no
custom profile fields for the organization.
default_language_name was a part of page_params which is actually
redundant considering that we already have language_list and
default_language available to frontend which can be used to
get the default_language_name and hence prevents the backend
from sending an additional parameter.

* Remove unnecessary json validator for string validator.
* Update frontend to pass right validator.
* Update zulip.yaml to pass right parameter for curl request
in openapi.
* Update python_examples to pass right paramater.
Fixes part of #18035.
* Remove unnecessary json_validator for string parameters.
* Remove unnecessary JSON encoding in frontend calls. Structurally,
JavaScript does correct encoding without explicit JSON encoding.

TextField is used to allow users to set long stream + topic narrow
names in the urls.
We currently restrict users to only set "all_messages" and
"recent_topics" as narrows.
This commit achieves 3 things:
* Removes recent topics as the default view which loads when
hash is empty.
* Loads default_view when hash is empty.
* Loads default_view on pressing escape key when it is unhandled by
other present UI elements.
NOTE: After this commit loading zulip with an empty hash will
automatically set hash to default_view. Ideally, we'd just display
the default view without a hash, but that involves extra complexity.
One exception is when user is trying to load an overlay directly,
i.e. zulip is loaded with an overlay hash. In this case,
we render recent topics is background irrespective of default_view.
We consider this last detail to be a bug not important enough to block
adding this setting.
ES and TypeScript modules are strict by default and don’t need this
directive. ESLint will remind us to add it to new CommonJS files and
remove it from ES and TypeScript modules.

Prettier would do this anyway, but it’s separated out for a more
reviewable diff. Generated by ESLint.

With this implementation of the feature of the automatic theme
detection, we make the following changes in the backend, frontend and
documentation.
This replaces the previous night_mode boolean with an enum, with the
default value being to use the prefers-color-scheme feature of the
operating system to determine which theme to use.

When reading the calling code, it's helpful to know
that we're really just passing in a selector. The
calls to open_modal/close_modal are nicer now to
reconcile with surrounding code, and you don't have
to guess whether the parameter is some kind of
"key" value--it really just refers directly to a DOM
element.
There is nothing user-visible about this change, but
the blueslip info messages now include the hash:
open modal: open #change_email_modal
This gives them cache-compatible URLs, and also avoids some extra
copies of the sprite sheet images.

This moves some code from settings_display.js
into the new module settings_config.js.
Extracting this module breaks some dependencies
on settings_display.js (which has some annoying
transitive dependencies, including jQuery).
In particular this isolates stream_data from
from settings_display.js.
Two of the three structures that we moved here
weren't even directly used by settings_display.js,
since we do a lot of rendering in the modules
admin.js and setting.js.
We make get_all_display_settings() a function
to avoid a require-time dependency on page_params.
Breaking the dependencies simplifies a few
node tests.
Most of the node test complexity came from the
following commit in March 2019:
5a130097bf
The commit itself seems harmless enough, but
dependencies can have a somewhat "viral" nature,
where making stream_data depend on settings_display
caused us to modify four different node tests.
When a user clicked the current emoji format in "display settings",
we'd show an infinite loading spinner (basically as a side effect of
trying to tell the server to change the emoji format to what it
already was).
Fix this by aborting early if the emoji format is already the option
that the user clicked.
Fixes#13684.
This commit was originally automatically generated using `tools/lint
--only=eslint --fix`. It was then modified by tabbott to contain only
changes to a set of files that are unlikely to result in significant
merge conflicts with any open pull request, excluding about 20 files.
His plan is to merge the remaining changes with more precise care,
potentially involving merging parts of conflicting pull requests
before running the `eslint --fix` operation.

With webpack, variables declared in each file are already file-local
(Global variables need to be explicitly exported), so these IIFEs are
no longer needed.

This adds a setting to control Zulip's default behavior of sorting to
bottom and graying out inactive streams. The previous logic is still
the default "automatic", but this gives users more control. See the
models.py comment for details.
